With Exclamation!!

Mommy to Eoin, my daring little almost two-year-old who is full of life; Wife to Jordan, my handsome, talented husband who deserves a medal for putting up with me and my antics. I work, I play, I run (albeit slowly). I dare you to count how many exclamation marks I use . . . and that's just with boring, everyday exchanges! Life is too short not to add a little drama to insignificant happenings! . . . This is the transcript of my life . . . let's see how it unfolds!

Smile Friday:  The ‘i have big shoes to fill’ edition!

Smile Friday:  The ‘i have big shoes to fill’ edition!

Eoin woke up crying last night; it was 3:12am.

He was wet; I changed his diaper, his clothes and his sheets.

I brought him to bed with Jordan and I for a little while.

Eventually, he was settled enough for his crib again.

Before I laid him in his crib, I rocked him.

I rocked him slowly to lull him into a deep slumber.

I rocked him for me; he is growing up so quickly.

I rocked him because I feel time slipping through my fingers;

he feel asleep staring at his stars from his Twilight Turtle and the sounds from his Sleep Sheep.

There is something magical about that time.

If I get awakened tonight, I will cherish it!

Update: the book challenge

100 books in 2010.

Ringing a bell now?

I’m not doing very well.

I am enjoying the reading, but not on track to read 100 books in 2010; I would like to fulfill this, and usually summer evenings on the deck inspire reading.  That sounds very romantic.

Summer days by the pool also inspire reading!

Please feel free to suggest some reads!  I would love to hear them.

Next up is Jodi Piccoult’s 19 minutes and Eat Pray Love

Here is the list so far:

  1. Good in Bed - Jennifer Weiner
  2. Goodnight Nobody - Jennifer Weiner
  3. Catch Me If You Can - Frank Abagnale
  4. The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold
  5. Time of My Life - Allison Winn Scotch
  6. The Abstinence Teacher - Tom Perrotta
  7. Total Money Makeover - Dave Ramsey
  8. The Street Lawyer - John Grisham
  9. Women and Money - Suze Orman
  10. PUSH - Sapphire
  11. Dear John - Nicholas Sparks
  12. A Million Little Pieces
I FINALLY finished this book last night.  Late.
I wish I could say that I loved it and it was worth it, but honestly I struggled to finish this book!
I actually read two other books while reading this book.
I’m glad its over.  I don’t really care about the controversy surrounding it.  I don’t wish to glorify this man any further, especially if he is a liar.
On to a much better book!

Doesn’t it kind of look like we are going to prom together?
I would be alright with that!

apparently Eoin is an equal opportunity Sesame Street character lover.
My mother-in-law is very sweet to take Eoin on Monday nights for a sleepover.  I usually have a meeting that goes until about 7:00pm and another meeting on Tuesday mornings at 6:45am.  Since I wouldn’t get to see him much anyway and to prevent him being at daycare so early, the sleepover comes into play!  It is such a great situation because Eoin loves spending time with his grandparents.
Last night, I was sent this picture.  Apparently Eoin conned Grandma and Grandpa into a trip to Toys R Us.  He got a new basketball hoop for Grandma and Grandpa’s house followed by a few hundred rides on this guy!  He bled Grandma dry of quarters.
I missed him immediately!  Then my husband and I spend our evening alone discussing how cute our son happens to be.  Exactly how we should plan spending evenings by ourselves, right?  I have a feeling Grandma and Grandpa take him so we would be doing things that might result in another grandchild.  The joke is on them.

I have been rather nostalgic lately; I think watching Eoin grow up has made me think of my own childhood more and more.  Eoin and I will grow up knowing different worlds, this worries me.
I will try to give him the little things from my childhood.  Like this breakfast; my nanny and my mom would both make this for me.  It is a boiled egg mashed in a tea cup with a little butter and salt and pepper along with a side of ‘little soldiers,’ also known as  toast cut into lengths.  Why?  So you can dip it in your egg, silly :)
It certainly is the little things.
Also, my husband teases me about this breakfast.  Is it a British thing?

Bro and I found this throwback Barbie at Target this weekend. I had this exact doll back in the 80s and I loved it, especially the white sparkly top.
Memories.

OH MY GOD I had that one too!  All I remember about it is the dress.  I know it’s somewhere in my parents basement.

This is Peaches ‘n Cream Barbie!  I also had it, in the ‘80’s, which meant I was living in Northern Ireland, so it seems she was an international hit at the time ;)
Actually now that I think about it, she may have belonged to my sister and I may have been super jealous.

oh, one more thing,

my son lives in that bubble car.

Seriously, he is the bubble car boy.

Eats dinner, watches television, sings, carries on conversations, reads.

The Bubble Car Boy.
